The state of Washington is proposing to amend rules pertaining to certain investment adviser rules including marketing, continuing education, books and records, and other rules.
Notice of Proposed Rule Making to Amend Washington’s Investment Adviser Rules
The Washington Securities Division has proposed amendments to Washington’s investment adviser rules in Chapter 460-24A WAC. The proposed amendments would adopt the SEC Marketing Rule, adopt a continuing education requirement for investment adviser representatives, update the definition of “qualified client” consistent with the current federal definition, adopt a requirement for investment advisers to maintain errors and omissions insurance, adopt exam validity extension, revise the unethical practices rule, and make other updates and clarifications as described in the Notice of Proposed Rule Making (Form CR-102).
